Houttuynia Extract

Houttuynia is the dried aboveground parts of Houttuynia cordata Thunb. In summer, when the stems and leaves are lush and the flowers and ears are abundant, they should be harvested, removed of impurities, and dried.

Houttuynia has a pungent taste, a cold and cool nature, and belongs to the lung meridian. It can clear heat and detoxify, reduce swelling and treat sores, promote diuresis and dehumidification, clear heat and stop dysentery, nourish the stomach and digest food. It is used to treat lung abscesses, ulcers, swelling and toxins, hemorrhoids, rectal bleeding, spleen and stomach heat caused by excess heat, heat toxicity, dampness, and disease heat. Modern pharmacological experiments have shown that this product has antibacterial, antiviral, immune enhancing, diuretic and other effects.
